Arrowverse producer Greg Berlanti is speaking up about the sexual harassment allegations made against producer Andrew Kreisberg that lead to Warner Bros.' decision to fire him. Kreisberg was let go from his post as executive producer of Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow after the network investigated 19 claims of harassment that included unwanted kissing and groping.
"I was shocked, I was disappointed, I was confused," Berlanti told Variety of the allegations. "But my overwhelming desire then and to this moment was how can I fix this, how can I help people that may have been hurt in any way."
Berlanti went on to say that he and Berlanti Productions head Sarah Schechter agreed with Kreisberg's dismissal. "[Warner Bros. TV] completed their investigation and shared the findings with us and then made their determination [to fire Kreisberg]. And we agreed with it," he added.

In the wake of the scandal, Berlanti says he and Schetcher have encouraged a more open environment where staffers will hopefully feel safer to report harassment, and it seems to be working. "I have to say I think everything's been so much more open and positive. I think everyone, everywhere we went really saw this crisis as an opportunity to -- myself included -- to create an incredibly positive place to work."
Berlanti joins Supergirl's Melissa Benoist and other Arrowverse stars who have publicly commented on the situation.
