Bhopal: Hamidia ortho, surgery OPDs start functioning from new building

Bhopal: Two OPDs that of orthopedic and surgery department started functioning at the new building of Hamidia Hospital on Monday. Following its inauguration by divisional commissioner Ajatshatru, the patients were examined at these two units. Out Patient Departments (OPD) for rest of the departments will continue in old building.
In the new building, the first and second floors have been dedicated for the OPD. Surgery OPD has been opened at first floor and Orthopedic OPD has been set at second floor. The new building has four lifts, besides it also has ramp from basement to upper floors for the convenience of the patients. Heavy security was deployed to deter unnecessary crowd in new building.
The new building, the largest tertiary care hospital in the state capital, also have an integrated ICU along with new operation theatres for trauma and emergency cases. While construction work is underway, the authorities have started two OPDs. The first floor, with dedicated units for each of the departments, has passage to the old hospital building. The walk-way connecting the old building will give access to IPD patients.
Dr Arvind Rai, who was one of doctors at OPD, said, that OPDs of only two departments- orthopedic and surgery – have been shifted to new building and started functioning, while other will continue to function on the old premises. We expect the administration will provided better facilities to patients in the new building, he added.
