Fans have been saddened by the news that Ant McPartlin and his wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong are to divorce after 11 years of marriage.

But the Britain's Got Talent presenter put on a brave face as he returned to work for the first day of Britain's Got Talent auditions with his presenting partner Declan Donnelly.

TV favourite Ant looked on great form as he larked around with judge David Walliams.

He was all smiles as he appeared to jokingly grab the funnyman from behind as they arrived on the red carpet at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

It was announced this month that Ant's 23-year relationship with Strictly Come Dancing make-up boss Lisa Armstrong was ending.

The couple had reportedly been under strain since the I’m A Celebrity presenter went into rehab for drug addiction last summer.

Ant, 42, confessed to problems with alcohol and pill abuse and had struggled with a two-year addiction to super-strength painkillers after a knee operation in 2015. But he was back on our screens to present I'm A Celebrity in Australia in November.

Amanda Holden strutted the red carpet in red

Also returning this year to join fellow judge David on the BGT judging panel are super-glam ladies Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon and reality show boss Simon Cowell.

Actress Amanda looked incredible in a floaty red sheer dress with matching heels and she gave singer Alesha a cheeky hand on the derriere as they strutted the red carpet to the auditions.

Alesha struck a pose for the popping flashbulbs in a plunging black and white striped flared jumpsuit with statement earrings.

The winner of Britain's Got Talent lands the opportunity to perform in front of the Royal family at the Royal Variety Performance.
