Clarkston schools Superintendent Rod Rock resigns, admits inappropriate relationship

CLARKSTON (WJRT) (1/15/2018) - A former Mid-Michigan educator has resigned from his job after admitting to an inappropriate relationship with a 19-year-old graduate.

Rod Rock worked for both the Saginaw County Intermediate School District and Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools before taking the top position in Clarkston.

Rock has now resigned as superintendent of Clarkston Community Schools in Oakland County.

He had just signed a four-year contract at more than $160,000 a year before stepping down.

The district says Rock admits the relationship with the young woman became inappropriate after she graduated. He said the nature of the relationship would make it difficult for him to continue as superintendent.
