BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- A Shallotte man wanted on charges including assault and kidnapping charges was arrested Tuesday "without incident," according to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office.

James A. Pugh, 38, is accused of breaking into a home in Shallotte and assaulting a woman Sunday night after calling her numerous times and threatening to kill her, according to warrants issued for his arrest.

On Monday, the sheriff's office identified him as armed and dangerous when putting out a release asking for information on his whereabouts. He was arrested Tuesday morning without incident, the sheriff's office said.

Pugh was being held Tuesday at the Brunswick County Detention Facility, the release said.
