India, Israel seal nine pacts

Nine pacts were signed between India and Israel after the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday.

The Memorandum on Cyber Security Cooperation envisages cooperation to develop, promote and expand cooperation in training of experts and sharing experiences. Israel has succeeded in thwarting highest number of cyber attacks in recent times and India is keen to learn from its experience.

The MoU between the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Ministry of Energy on Cooperation in Oil and Gas Sector is to explore opportunities of long-term cooperative relationship and joint economic projects alia including collaboration in upstream sector activities.

Protocol between India and Israel on Amendments to the Air Transport Agreement is for entering into cooperative marketing arrangements, such as code share, bloc space or any other JV agreement for the purpose of operating the agreed services on the specified routes.

Agreement on Film-co-production will see both sides co-producing and shooting films together. There was an MoU in the health sector for Cooperation in the field of Research in Homeopathic Medicine.

There were MoUs between Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology for cooperation in the field of space

Memorandum of Intent between Invest India and Invest in Israel was signed to support and develop cooperation between the two sides through exchange of information on investment opportunities, relevant laws and regulations, policies and Government initiatives.

There were pacts signed by the private sector: Letter of Intent between IOCL and Phinergy Ltd. For cooperation in the area of metal-air batteries, and Letter of Intent between IOCL and Yeda Research and Development Co Ltd for cooperation in the area of concentrated solar thermal technologies.
