Ford took the wraps of the Mustang Bullitt at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The muscle car which made its name from Steve McQueen's movie 'Bullitt' was revived by the American carmaker. The model was launched on the 50th anniversary of the Steve McQueen's movie reviving the iconic actor with new levels of power.
The Mustang Bullitt is a tuned version of the Mustang GT's 5.0-litre V8 engine churning out 475bhp and 569Nm of torque. The unit comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox pushing the Bullitt to a top speed of 163mph (262kmph), an increase of 8mph (13kmph).

The Bullitt features a performance exhaust system and the open air induction system and intake manifold from the Shelby GT350 as standard. Ford states that this was done to give the Bullitt a unique exhaust note.
The Mustang Bullitt rides on 19-inch black alloy wheels, and the car is available in two colours: Dark Highland Green or Shadow black. Commemorating 1968 original, the 2018 Mustang Bullitt features subtle chrome details around the grille and front windows along with the green decorative stitching in the cabin.
Inside, as an optional, one can choose Recaro racing seats along with adaptive dampers and an electronics package that includes satellite-navigation, driver memory seats and mirrors, blind spot monitoring and an updated sound system.
Ford showed a short movie, starring a third-generation member of the McQueen family, Molly, to introduce the new third-generation Bullitt at Detroit Auto Show. In the film, Molly races the new Mustang Bullitt through a parking structure battling a Dodge Charger for the final free parking slot. Watch the video below.'
"This new Bullitt is, as Steve McQueen was, effortlessly cool," said Darrell Behmer, Mustang chief designer. "As a designer, it's my favourite Mustang - devoid of stripes, spoilers and badges. It doesn't need to scream about anything - it's just cool."
