DL youth basketball teams to play at Pacesetter Region 6 in Moorhead

The Detroit Lakes fifth grade boys and sixth and ninth grade girls basketball teams will play in the Pacesetter Region 6 basketball tournament held at Moorhead High School April 14-15.

All teams in the tournament will play three to four games in one day.

The Region 6 champion will be invited to play in the Minnesota Youth Basketball State Championships in Maple Grove in June.

The top two teams from the state tournament advance to the Target Center in Minneapolis to play in the Pacesetter Great Five-State Championships against the top teams from Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Teams with only one loss in the regional tournament will qualify for the MIT (MN Invitational Tournament), also in Maple Grove in June.

Over 1,000 teams will play in the Pacesetter Sports five-state youth basketball playoff system, which promotes school and community teams, and is sponsored by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx.

Registration for the regional tournaments is available to all Minnesota schools or community-based youth teams in grades 4-9.  Further information on guidelines and registration is available at www.pacesettersports.net.
