Northern Lakes eliminated a 3-0 deficit, but Red Wing scored the final three goals for a 7-4 victory over the Lightning in the Girls Hockey St. Paul Winter Classic on Saturday at North Dale Rec Center.

Emily Hart scored the only goal of the first period for the Wingers, and Kendal Swanson scored twice in the second before Northern Lakes' Caitlyn Gutzman and Chloe Deutsch made it 3-2 before the second intermission.

Alyssa Koslowski tied the game early in the third, but Nicole Oberding gave Red Wing the lead right back a couple minutes later.

Elli Saxerud pull the Lightning even again 5 minutes, 55 seconds into the final frame, but that would be the end of the scoring for Northern Lakes.

Delaynee Fox made it 5-4 at 7:55, and Hart and Swanson scored at 10:44 and 12:39 to put the game away.

Hart and Oberding each finished with five points, and Swanson three with her hat trick.

Tyler McGrath made 15 saves for the win while the Wingers put 32 shots on Maddie Wahoske, who made 25 saves.

Red Wing (14-4) hits the road for the rest of the week with games at Austin on Thursday and at Owatonna on Saturday.
