Ghana's police say they are questioning three men who were arrested Monday after being found with explosives.

Inspector General of Police David Asante-Apeatu said Tuesday they want to determine how the suspects acquired grenades and explosives and if the three are linked to the Islamic State group. He wouldn't give the nationalities of the three.

Asante-Apeatu said the three were arrested in a house at Odorkor near Accra, the capital, after a tip-off. He said police are collaborating with other security agencies.

He did not give further details and urged Ghanaians to remain calm.
