CHANDIGARH:
Diesel price in Chandigarh touched a record high of Rs 60.07 per litre on Monday. Its price also created a record high of Rs 61.74 per litre in Delhi and Rs 65.74 in Mumbai.
The highest ever
diesel rate in Chandigarh till now was Rs 60.03 per litre in January 2017. However, the rates came down last year after the
Central government slashed 2%
VAT and later the UT administration also slashed the VAT by 5%.
The Rs 0.14 hike in diesel rates from the previous day's rate of Rs 59.93 per litre led to a record high in the diesel rate in the city.
