Here's a breakdown of closures, or notable businesses remaining open, across Acadiana today:
- The Lafayette Transit System will not provide Night Owl service during the evening hours. Transit services are expected to resume at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday
- All high school basketball games in the area are canceled.
- The City of Mamou will have a curfew Tuesday night from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will close at 3 p.m. All classes scheduled before 3 p.m. will be held. A decision on classes Wednesday will be made after 8 p.m.
- South Louisiana Community College will close at 2 p.m. An announcement on whether classes will be held Wednesday will be made after 8 p.m.
- LSU Eunice announces it will be closed on Tuesday. This includes students at LSU Alexandria, Lafayette General Medical Center Southwest, and the LSUE Academy.
- The Bayou Vermilion District also announced that it will be closed, along with all activites including Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park on Tuesday due to severe weather. All activities throughout the village that occurs on Tuesdays such as $5 Yoga en Françis is also cancelled. The organization will re-open on Wednesday, January 17 as of now. Yoga class will resume next Tuesday, January 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Performance Center — as usual.
- University of Louisiana at Lafayette will close at 3 p.m. Tuesday due to weather conditions. Classes beginning before 3 p.m. will be held as scheduled. Bus service will discontinue at 4 p.m. Students and employees on campus after 4 p.m. can contact the ULPD for assistance. The university will update about Wednesday by email, official school websites and social media about 8 p.m.

The Lafayette Parish School board has issued a notice that Lafayette Parish Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday due to a winter weather event.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for our region on Tuesday. Freezing rain and sleet, mixed with a little snow is the primary threat.
According to the National Weather Service, precipitation is predicted to begin in the morning and continue through the afternoon, before ending in the evening. Little accumulation is expected, but elevated roads and bridges could be icy during the day and evening.
Staff will monitor weather conditions throughout the day tomorrow in order to determine when schools will reopen.
The Jefferson Davis Parish School Board also announced that it will be closing schools Tuesday at the urging of local authorities to remain off the roadways.
Westminster Christian Academy has announced that both campuses in Lafayette and Opelousas will be closed Tuesday.
The Academy of the Sacred Heart and Berchmans Academy in Grand Coteau have also announced that they will be closed Tuesday due to the weather.
