Indian River County
Is there light at the end of the rough surf tunnel? Probably by Thursday, surf casters may be able to actually cast in the surf again. Pompano, whiting and croaker are going to be the main targets. Clam strips and Fish Bites flavored like clam strips and sand fleas, colored in the orange color, will be great offerings. Fish the incoming tide with the best action coming near the top of the tide.

St. Lucie County
Kadri Benton of White's Tackle said there has been a good pompano bite off Jaycee Park out along the channel and around the spoil islands during the incoming tide. Clean water is pushing south all the way to the power plant again. To the north, between the North Causeway and Harbor Branch, redfish and trout fishing has been very good on live shrimp and soft plastics. When the seas lie down, the kingfish bite will be good on the reefs in 60 to 80 feet of water.
Martin County
From weakfish on the reefs offshore and along the beach, to pompano in the inlet during the incoming tide, to spotted seatrout as far upriver as the Roosevelt Bridge, the fishing reports are pretty good. Clean water is leading to better catches throughout the estuary, and giving anglers hope for a spring of great fishing chances from Sailfish Point to Cabana Point.
Lake Okeechobee
Fishing guides on the great lake are staying busy and catching big bass. Wild shiners are working well for catching big numbers and big fish. From Eagle Bay to King's Bar to Tin House Cove to Observation Shoal, anglers can find good bass fishing beginning with topwater lures. Speckled perch fishing is really good, too. Jigs are outfishing the live minnows and the best bite is late in the day.
