17th daylong bird fair will be held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Friday (January 19) amid fanfare and festivity.
Zoology department of JU, Wildlife Rescue Centre, Bangladesh Bird Club, Arannayk Foundation, Chhanel 24, IUCN and Bangladesh Forest Department will jointly organised this fair.
Prof Dr Md Kamrul Hasan of Zoology department, also the convener of the fair, at a briefing held at Jahangirnagar University Journalists' office on Tuesday said like every year, the fair is going to be held with a view to creating mass awareness amongst the people to save birds from extinction.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Farzana Islam will inaugurate the fair in front of Zahir Raihan Auditorium in the morning.
The day long fair will be featured by inter university bird identification, stall decoration, debate, bird painting competition, watching migratory birds in different spot by telescope for children, quiz competition, discussion and a cultural session.
The visitors can take part in their related events in the fair.
