The High Court yesterday granted bail to Bangladesh Protidin Editor Naem Nizam and its Publisher Moynal Hossain Chowdhury in a defamation case.
An HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath passed the bail order.
Motahar Hossain, Lalmonirhat Awami League president and former state minister for primary and mass education, filed the case with a local court for running a report on corruption involving him in the newspaper on April 9, 2014.
