CINCINNATI >> The former lieutenant governor candidate of U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci has decided which other Republican to endorse now that he’s ended his bid for Ohio governor.

Cincinnati City Councilwoman Amy Murray endorsed Republican Attorney General Mike DeWine Tuesday over GOP Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor.

Murray’s decision comes after Renacci announced last week that he would leave the governor’s race to make a run for U.S. Senate, leaving no need for a running mate.

Renacci has cited White House encouragement as he seeks to win May’s Republican primary and take on two-term Democratic incumbent Sherrod Brown. Cleveland businessman Mike Gibbons is also in the race.
