(MENAFN) An international summit is to be co-hosted Tuesday by the United States and Canada to discuss the North Korean nuclear tensions in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Vancouver meeting is expected by several analysts to not be a fruitful meeting as inter-Korean talks captivated the attention of diplomats, even though the summit is to be held amid vital circumstances.
Senior Fellow of the US-Korea Institute at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Joel Wit stated "I'm sure, given the circumstances on the peninsula right now, that the attendees to that meeting will be very careful about what they say publicly."
He added "because I think most of them there would not want to 'upset the apple cart' in any way. I think whatever they do, whatever they say, it's going to be supportive of what the South Korean government is trying to achieve."
