Officials: Dryer malfunction cause of fire on Carpenter Drive

Officials said a dryer malfunction is what caused an apartment fire in south Louisville.

The fire broke out around 10:30 p.m. Monday on Carpenter Drive.

Firefighters said flames were shooting from the back of the building when crews arrived.

Everyone made it out safely, officials said.

Officials said due to the cold temperatures, they had to rotate firefighters out to keep them safe.
