Jiribam, January 15 2018: The 13th annual conference of All Jiribam Working Journalists' Union (AJWJU) began today at the guest house of PWD, Jiribam.

The beginning of two-days long conference was attended by AJWJU Advisor Sarat Thokchom, president Ng Biswajit Singh and legal Advisor L Romen Singh as presidium members.

Later, the general body meeting of the union was held, chaired by Ng Biswajit Singh, in which the executive body of AJWJU was reformed.

During the meeting, the outgoing general secretary of AJWJU S Herajit Singh tabled the annual report and the account statements to the jury members of the meeting.

The new executive body for the session 2018-2020 was elected under the supervision of Returning Officer, Lamabam Romen Singh, who was also the Legal Advisor of the union.

Ng Biswajit Singh has been elected as president of AJWJU, S Herajit Singh as vice president, A Lukhoi Singh as general secretary Md Mahin Laskar as finance secretary among others.

An open session will be held on the last day of the conference in which Editor of Imphal Times, Khumukcham Ringku and Sarat Thokchom would be speaking on 'Ethics of journalist' and 'Press release & press conference' as a resource persons.
