Lai Ching-te promises to expand anti-drug smuggling budget for Coast Guard (2018/01/16)
Premier Lai Ching-te has expressed the Cabinet's commitment to combat drug trafficking while observing a Coast Guard drug interdiction drill. He promised to support plans to provide the Coast Guard with the best anti-drug smuggling equipment, and also called on Japan, China and the USA to share contraband intelligence.
In this simulation, a small boat approaches a fishing vessel for a drug transaction. Immediately the Coast Guard patrol ship speeds in, and officers board the suspicious vessels to conduct a contraband search.
One step ahead, the latest drone equipment has already been investigating the situation from the air and sending back real-time footage for inspection. Premier Lai Ching-te boarded the patrol ship Yilan in the Port of Taipei to personally observe the Coast Guard’s drug interdiction training.
Looking out from the deck at the training exercises, Lai expressed his full support for an increased equipment budget for the Coast Guard.

賴清德登宜蘭艦 視察海巡署緝毒演練
行政院長賴清德，到台北港登上宜蘭艦視察海巡署的緝毒演練，宣示政府反毒決心，賴清德說會全力支持海巡署要的最新裝備，他也呼籲和中美日等國，分享毒品情資。
模擬小艇接近漁船，準備進行毒品交易，海巡署艦艇迅速上前，登船搜索查緝。
最新的無人機載具，也早一步飛往偵查，傳回即時監看的畫面。海巡署這場緝毒訓練，行政院長賴清德親自登上停靠在台北港的宜蘭艦視察。
在甲板上遠眺海巡艦艇演練，賴清德隨後也指示全力支持海巡署增添新裝備的預算。

“不管是日本、不管是美國、不管是中國，或是東南亞國家，我們都應該要跟他們分享情資，而且我們掌握到任何情資，都一定要非常慎重、非常積極地去佈線、去查緝。工欲善其事，必先利其器，所以你們要的船艦要的設備，我們一定會全力支持。”
