A double homicide investigation is underway in Madera County. Two people were found dead overnight in a home on the outskirts of Chowchilla.

The discovery was made just after midnight at a home on Robertson Boulevard between Adams Drive and Myers Drive. Fire crews were initially called to the scene, but when they arrived they found the victims.

Officials are now saying they are a man and woman in their 60's or 70's-- possibly married.

Madera County officials said there are signs of foul play and believe both people were killed.

A possible small clandestine drug lab was found in the home next door.

There is no word yet on how they died or what led to the fire call. There are no obvious signs of fire from the outside of the home.
