Nybergs Witness The Minneapolis Miracle

Don Jorgensen reports:
It's been more than 24 hours since the big game and Vikings fans are still talking about thee catch.  While most of us sat and watched the exciting ending of the game on television, there were quite a few people from KELOLAND who were at the game and saw it in person.

They didn't blow this one.  That's what a lot of Viking fans are probably saying on Monday, including Kevin Nyberg and his wife, Linda.

They just returned home after attending the game that's been dubbed the Minneapolis Miracle.

"With about 30 seconds left in the game, as a Vikings fan I was callas, because of the years we haven't gotten to where we want to be or the let downs over the years," Kevin said.

The Nybergs are still on an emotional high after the Vikings scored the game winning touchdown with no time left on the clock to beat the New Orleans Saints.

"I'm so hoarse, still hoarse, yesterday was a great day," Kevin said.

"It was so loud in there, extremely loud.  Everybody was waving their white hankies, awesome," Linda said.

Their seats for the game were very close to the endzone celebration.

"So we were right there, right in front of us, it's one of those Vikings memories that will live on forever," Kevin said.

The Nybergs have been lifelong Vikings fan, but they've been following them a little closer because their twin daughters, Kirsten and Karmen, are cheerleaders for the team.

"I feel very fortunate; I'm so proud of them," Linda said.

Even though the Nybergs weren't allowed down onto the field, they still posed for a picture with their daughters.

Even though this is their third season as cheerleaders, they know the Vikings' playoff history. But the Nybergs are feeling pretty confident this year.

"I'll tell you what makes this team different.  They're a team.  They play together.  Teams of the past there's always been a Cris Carter, a Randy Moss, or one or two players.  This team, it's not Stefon Diggs; it's not Adam Thielen.  It's the whole team and they play together," Kevin said.

But can the team pull together one more time?

"We're going to win.  It's going to be tough, but I think we can make it," Nybergs said.

The Nybergs have attended a lot of Vikings games; both say this one ranks at the top.
