San Juan Cafe to close

Owners say no final date is set.

San Juan Cafe will close its doors, but chef and co-owner Billy Quetel said there is no final date set.

In a phone conversation with the StarNews he said there was no further information to provide other than to confirm the closure.

Chef Danny Keegan, a Puerto Rican Native, and Quetel, who was born in St. Thomas, US Virigin Islands, opened the Puerto Rican-inspired dining spot on Wrightsville Avenue in 2010.

Since then the restaurant has earned a number of accolades for its Cuban sandwiches, Latin dishes and was named one of the area's top 15 restaurants by Wilmington Magazine.
