TORRINGTON – Shirley (DallaValle) Meyer, 87, of Torrington, peacefully passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold “Duke” Meyer.
Shirley was born June 10, 1930, in Torrington, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Suthowski) DallaValle.
She is survived by two sons, Keith Meyer and his wife Margaret, of Norfolk, Gary Meyer and his wife Shawn, of Torrington; two stepbrothers, Jack DallaValle of Florida, and Robert DallaValle and his wife, Angie, of Torrington; two sisters, Doris Geer of Colebrook and Diane Schapp and her husband, Charles, of Torrington; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Tino.
Funeral services will be Thursday with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m.
