Air hostess Kara Mudler revealed the travel secret on her blog The Flight Attendant Life.

Apparently, it’s as easy as sticking to the schedule of the destination you’re landing at.

This means eating, drinking and snoozing according to this time zone.

Kara said: "Immediately change your watch to the local time. Fall into a local time schedule and routine with eating and sleeping.

"Do not go to sleep at 1pm. Wait to fall asleep at a regular time. Your body will quickly readjust.

"If the snack and meal service is not served on the your eating schedule, go ahead and pass on the food.

“Pack your own healthy granola bars, trail mix, dried fruit, etc. Also, be careful and avoid foods that cause gastrointestinal distress and be careful not to overeat."

If this isn’t enough to make you drowsy, here are some other tips that could be of use.

Wearing an eye mask can be very beneficial, as this prevents you from being woken by a change in the lighting.

Noise-cancelling earphones are also a life-saver if you’re caught next to inconsiderate passengers.
