The Wofford women’s basketball team rolled past Brevard on Monday night, 85-46. The Terriers (9-10) outscored Brevard 23-0 in the first quarter and never looked back in the team’s final non-conference game of the season. Wofford came out shooting 9 of 17 (52%) in the first quarter from the floor as seven different Terriers recorded a point. For the game, Wofford had 17 assists on 26 buckets while turning the ball over just eight times. All nine Terriers recorded a basket while Jamari McDavid led the team with 22 points.
CLEMSON: The football team held its annual awards banquet at the Poe Indoor Football Facility. The offensive most valuable players, known as the Tiger Pride Awards were presented to quarterback Kelly Bryant and offensive tackle Mitch Hyatt. Hyatt is just the second offensive lineman to receive an MVP award in the last 30 years. Kalon Davis was also honored in 2014. On the defensive side the ball, Clelin Ferrell, Ryan Carter and Dorian O’Daniel were honored with Tiger Pride Awards.
• Former Clemson All-American Dillard Pruitt was inducted into the South Carolina Golf Hall of Fame over the weekend. The ceremony took place at Columbia Country Club. Pruitt was the 68th person to be inducted, the third from his family. Pruitt was Clemson’s first two-time All-American, as he was honored after the 1983 and 1984 seasons.
