Even before the last piece of confetti fell from the ceiling of the Mercedes-Benz Dome last Monday night, there was a rush to rank the contenders for the 2018 season, a task which, to be fair, could be done without an overwhelming research burden attached.

With the passage of the Jan. 15 deadline for early entry to the NFL draft, the picture is a little clearer.
