Lauren Zeigler, a CNA with hospice, was driving down Tracy Grove in Hendersonville, N.C. Monday afternoon when she saw a pig running down the middle of the road.
Zeigle got the pig off into a field near Forest Lawn, where she drew the attention of two Henderson County Sheriff's Office VIPs (Volunteers in Partnership).
VIPs Danny Livingston and Phillip Daniel had just completed a funeral escort to Forest Lawn and helped try to catch the pig. They soon enlisted Deputy George Mayo as well.
They almost had the animal contained several times but had to let it go because it was squealing loudly next to a funeral.
After a full bucket of treats, Zeigler was able to catch the pig as the others distracted it.
Mayo said he was going to take the pig to the animal shelter. Mayo also said it was a little funny for him because he was moving from patrol to animal control next week.
