In just three days, the short video of reporters yelling questions to President Trump about whether he is a racist has become C-SPAN's most-watched clip on YouTube involving the Trump White House.
In the video from Friday, Trump signed a proclamation honoring Martin Luther King Jr., and left the room as reporters demanded to know if he was a racist. That question was prompted by Trump's reported comment that America shouldn't let in people from "shithole" countries.
"Mr. President, will you give an apology for the statement yesterday?" one reporter asked.
"Mr. President, are you a racist?" April Ryan of American Urban Radio Networks asked. "Mr. President, are you a racist?"
The clip had more than 245,000 views on C-SPAN's YouTube channel as of Monday. Howard Mortman of C-SPAN said it has already surpassed the previous most popular C-SPAN clip involving Trump as president, which was his inauguration.
However, C-SPAN's most-watched clip of Trump is from before he was in the White House, and is a short video of him entering the 2016 GOP convention. That clip is #40 on C-SPAN's list of most popular videos from its YouTube page, and has more than 854,000 views.
C-SPAN's most-watched is a 2011 clip of President Obama from the White House correspondents dinner, which has 10 million views. Most of the top 10 involve Obama, including #5, when he sang Amazing Grace at the memorial service for the people killed at a South Carolina church in 2015.
