Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, Pravin Togadia goes missing, found unconscious

Ahemadabad: International Working President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Pravin Togadia, was found late on Monday, hours after the outfit claimed he was missing. He was found in an unconscious state at a park in Ahmedabad. He is believed to have fainted because of low blood sugar and has been hospitalised. Togadia was last seen leaving the VHP office in Ahmedabad with a bearded man around 10.45 am. He arrived unconscious in an ambulance. As news of Togadia’s hospitalisation spread, several VHP workers gathered around the facility.
The police have heightened security around the hospital. Togadia had gone missing despite enjoying Z-plus security cover. He was reported to be “untraceable” since Monday morning when a contingent of Rajasthan Police came to arrest him in an old case, officials said. City police had formed four teams to locate the Hindutva leader. The VHP claimed Togadia (62) was detained by the Rajasthan Police in connection with the case, but the latter denied this.
The mystery over Togadia’s disappearance deepened, with a senior police officer maintaining that neither the local Sola police nor the Rajasthan Police have arrested him. VHP workers held protests in different parts of Ahmedabad and Surat demanding that the “missing” leader be traced soon. The VHP had claimed that Togadia was detained by the Rajasthan Police
