GALLIANO – The Houma Christian School girls soccer team slipped past South Lafourche 1-0 on the strength of a goal by Taylor Webb in the 30th minute during a nondistrict match at Ralph Peré Field at Tarpon Memorial Stadium on Monday.
The Division IV Lady Warriors improved to 8-1-6 overall and the Division II Lady Tarpons fell to 3-12-0 overall.
Kamryn Barrett assisted on the Lady Warriors goal and Jillian Daigle got the clean-sheet victory in goal.
“The girls played well with patience and confidence,” Lady Warriors coach Marty Boquet said. “We held possession 80 percent of the game and that was exactly what we asked of them. Congrats to South Lafourche for a game well played. We have many young players still looking for some confidence on the varsity field and they are slowly maturing. The team is peaking at the right time of the season moving into the playoffs.”
Emily Danos had 13 saves in goal for South Lafourche.
