SALEM — Balanced scoring and Tyler Cochran’s play down the stretch helped the Cascade Christian boys basketball team ward off Irrigon, 51-47, in the Yoda MLK High School Showcase at Corban University on Monday.
Cochran’s lay-up with four minutes remaining gave the Challengers a 43-41 lead, and later with around 30 seconds left, the senior guard made it a two-possession game by knocking down a pair of free throws to put Cascade Christian ahead, 51-47, in the tournament which features the state’s top Class 3A teams.
