Lewis Hamilton is due to make his first public appearance of the year today following the release of shocking details of his split with Nicole Scherzinger.

The four-time Formula One world champion will appear at an event for IWC, the Swiss watchmaker that sponsors his Mercedes team, in Geneva.

Yesterday, The Sun revealed scandalous details on Hamilton's split from the former Pussycat Doll.

Speaking with The Sun, Hamilton's ex-girlfriend Veronica Valle made shock revelations about the sports star, including a claim that he had "became obsessed with the idea of threesomes".

Valle also alleged that Hamilton called Scherzinger "every name under the sun" following their split in 2015.

Hamilton's appearance will also follow recent criticism he received for comments made about his nephew in an Instagram video, posted on Boxing Day.

Hamilton told his nephew in the video that "boys don't wear princess dresses".

The video quickly sparked a social media uproar and Hamilton has since deleted the content and issued an apology.

The 33-year-old will return to his Mercedes cockpit in the first two pre-season tests in Barcelona next month.
