LONOKE — Representative Roger Lynch, who serves northeastern Jefferson County in District 14, announced he will seek re-election for his seat in the State House. His district also includes portions of Lonoke, Pulaski, Arkansas and Prairie counties. Lynch has served on the Lonoke County Quorum Court for 10 years and was operations manager of the Remington Ammunition Plant.
“I took my local experience to Little Rock because our communities needed a strong, experienced leader to make sure their voices weren't being blocked out by big government,” Lynch said. “I did that in my first term, and that's what I will continue doing when re-elected.”
As a small business owner and life-long conservative, Lynch, a Republican, backed legislation that supports small businesses, local economies and traditional family values, according to a news release.
In addition to his own accomplishments, Lynch helped pass Gov. Asa Hutchinson's legislative priorities, which included increasing educational opportunities and job skills training for students and eliminating income taxes for veterans.
“I look forward to seeing what successes we can secure for the people of District 14 in the upcoming term,” Lynch said. “Common sense and financial responsibility can go a long way, and those will continue to be the cornerstone of my service in the Arkansas legislature.”
Lynch serves on the House Public Transportation and the House City, County and Local Affairs Committees. He has received several honors for his legislative accomplishments, including the “Business Matters” leadership award from the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and being named a “Distinguished Legislator” by the Arkansas Municipal League.
Lynch lives in Lonoke with his wife, Shelia, and is the owner and operator of a small business. He and his wife have two adult children and attend Grace Baptist Church of Lonoke. He also serves on the board of directors for Lonoke County Safe Haven and the Lonoke County Coalition for Progress.
