BBC Breakfast: Dan Walker stumbles over his words in embarrassing early morning blunder
DAN WALKER was left a little red-faced during BBC Breakfast today after he fumbled over his words in front of millions of viewers.
Following Louise Minchin’s comments on the latest news, Dan Walker began to announce what was upcoming in the show.
On top of the breaking news concerning the Carillion liquidation, and the comments made by UKIP Leader Henry Bolton’s girlfriend, Dan excitedly announced the return of some guests to the BBC Breakfast sofa.
“As well as, I suppose, the completely other end of the scale,” he began. “Which is what we like to do at BBC Breakfast, we’ve got Andrew Flintoff, Robbie Savage, and Matthew Syed coming back on the sofa.
“For the third series of their, well I’d say award winning, they’ve basically won everything for their podcast, haven’t they?”

But the title of his upcoming guests’ podcast eluded Dan: “Fred, Sav, and Syed, and, and the…”
Pausing for a second to think about what he was saying, he asked co-host Louise: “What is it?”
“And the depot guy?” she responded.
Inspiration struck and Dan looked at the camera and confirmed: “Flintoff, Savage, and the Ping-Pong guy.”

That did not sound right
Dan’s blunders didn’t end there, though.
With Louise pushing forward, she announced the details of an upcoming competition.
Dan cut in announcing colleague Carol’s 8am secret: “And Carol’s big secret reveal.”

Unable to keep herself together, Louise began laughing, saying: “People are going to watch through that, aren’t they?”
“That did not sound right,” Dan finished, looking shocked.
“Right, I’ll sort my words out, we’ll see you in a few minutes time.”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One at 6am.
