(MENAFN) The UAE on Monday stated that Qatari fighter jets had twice intercepted civilian passenger planes on way to Bahrain.

This move by Qatar was a severe violation of international law since the planes were on scheduled flights to a known destination, and a violation of safety standards.

Taking every step possible to ensure safety of its planes and passengers, the UAE strongly condemned the move.
