ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday received at Qasr Al Bahar here Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Taro Kono, who is visiting the country to attend the meeting of the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency, IRENA, in the UAE capital.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the top diplomat and his delegation and discussed with them ways of furthering co-operation ties between the UAE and Japan as well as the latest developments in the region.
The meeting occasioned a review of the main issues discussed during IRENA’s meeting, which concluded today, with Sheikh Mohamed affirming the UAE appreciation for the people and leadership of Japan.

Sheikh Mohamed, yesterday received, at Qasr Al Bahar, Miroslav Lajcak, President of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, who is currently visiting the UAE to attend the meeting of the International Renewable Energy Agency, IRENA, General Assembly in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Lajcak and exchanged conversation with him about the General Assembly’s activities and the means of strengthening its role in dealing with issues concerning global economic growth, energy, sustainable development and achieving global security and peace.
