Foreign workers paid €100 million in taxes in Malta in 2016

The Maltese government collected €100,669,345 in taxes from foreign workers in 2016, Finance Minister Edward Scicluna revealed in parliament, when replying to a parliamentary question by government MP Clayton Bartolo.

This represents a substantial increase, and is practically double the €51,304,751 in taxes that was collected from foreign workers in 2011.

In 2015 the government received €94.5 million, while €68.6 million, €65.5 million, and €53 million was collected in 2014, 2013, and 2012 respectively.
