The all-new 2019 Veloster brings more power and technology to Hyundai’s distinctive sporty compact.
Designed with input from studios in Seoul, South Korea, and Irvine, Cal., the Veloster hatchback retains its distinctive “two-plus-one†doors, with a third behind the front passenger for easier access to the rear seat.
A 2.0L engine producing 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque is standard. It’s inked to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The optional turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder generates 201 hp and 195 lb-ft. A six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission is available with the turbo. The stability control system is tuned for sporty driving.
Interior features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto. Options include a head-up display, 8.0-inch touch screen, wireless charging and eight-speaker Infinity audio..
The exterior features optional LED headlights and a large grille with air intakes beside it to create an air curtain to reduce aerodynamic drag around the front wheels. A lower roofline contributes to coupe-like proportions. An optional dark roof adds to the compact’s striking appearance.
Safety features include forward collision alert and automatic braking; blind spot and cross traffic alerts; adaptive cruise control; lane keeping assist; six air bags; automatic high beams and drowsy driver alert.
