Mexico City, Jan 15: A mysterious Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was sighted in Mexico recently, triggering conspiracy theories about aliens and their existence on Earth. The UFO was spotted over a busy road Mexicali city in the state of Baja California, Mexico. The video soon went viral on the internet, with alien enthusiasts calling the footage the “first alien sighting of 2018.”
Unlike other cigar-shaped or saucer-shaped UFOs, this time the reported flying object appeared to be humanoid-shaped. Some people speculated it to be an alien visiting Earth. Speaking to Daily Mail, Pedro Ramirez, a UFO expert, said there has been a spike in ‘alien activities’ in the last two months of the year 2017, adding that the upcoming launches by NASA and SpaceX would trigger the number of UFO sightings.
“Aliens are aware that we have made a number of space launches recently and have identified that we have been sending up ‘war material’. Concerned by our activity, they have been increasingly monitoring our planet. This year will be very important for those of us who follow this phenomenon closely,” he explained to CEN news agency.
The footage of UFO received mixed reactions, with some netizens rejecting it as fake while some others guessing it to be a pilot testing a jetpack. NASA has been active in trying to find signs of life beyond Earth, although, it’s not as keen when it comes to monitoring UFO. “UFOs aren’t necessarily alien spacecraft. And some purported UFOs aren’t UFOs at all,” it had stated.
