For the Paradip Port Trust Labour Trustee election, the Paradip Port Workers’ Union (PPWU) has urged its members to cast votes in its favour.
The PPWU is the oldest union of Paradip and since 1964 and has been
continuously working for the welfare of the labourers for about 54 years. Nishamani Khuntia was the founder of the union and it is affiliated to the All India Port and Dock Workers Federation.
Union working president Sudhakar Mantry, vice-president Amrut Das, general secretary Ananta Kumar Das, assistant secretary Gunanidhi Choudhry and Gagan Bihari Mohanty called a Press meet at the union office premises on Sunday.
Two members will be elected from the PPT. This year, ten members of the trade union are participating in the election. The 1st and 2nd winner will go to the Port Trust Board.
