SURAT: Gujarat cabinet minister for tribal development Ganpatsinh Vasava has claimed that the disturbance created in his presence at a tribal gathering in Rajpipla was pre-planned. Vasava addressed media in Surat on Monday. He said stones were pelted at Vasava's car when he was leaving the spot following hooting.

A number of people were hooting while Vasava walked hurriedly to reach his car. Some security personnel were keeping him safe. The crowd was following and hooting Vasava from a close distance. Due to stone pelting, glasses of Vasava's car got damaged.

Vasava went to participate in the Adivasi Ekta Sammelan in Rajpipla of Narmada district on second day of the three-day event in which tribals from different parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh were participating. A while after Vasava went to the dais, some groups, out of a total gathering of nearly 15,000, started hooting Vasava. After a while, he got down from the dais and walked towards his car.

"It was an act by some people who are against development. It seems it was a pre-planned attack. I am yet to decide to lodge a police compliant," said Vasava.
