Police arrested two men they say possessed cocaine Jan. 11 during a traffic stop, according to an Elyria police report.
Jordan W. Altpater, 22, and Maguel A. Hernandez Jr., 25, both of Elyria, are each facing a charge of possession of crack cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired at 9:30 p.m. in the area of Allen and Barbara streets, but could find no sign of a shooting, according to the report.
Police saw Altpater and Hernandez leave the scene in a gray Nissan and performed a traffic stop.
Altpater initially was arrested on active warrants through Elyria Municipal Court, according to the report.
Officers found cocaine that he had attempted to conceal near his buttocks, the report said.
Hernandez was found with a black digital scale that contained cocaine residue, according to the report.
He also was charged with drug paraphernalia, as fourth-degree misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana, a minor misdemeanor.
Both men were taken to Lorain County Jail.
Altpater and Hernandez are out on bond and have a hearing at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 before Elyria Municipal Judge Gary C. Bennett.
