Arrest of four robbers, who had looted 5.4 kg gold and 230 gram of silver ornaments from a jeweler Pawan Kumar Agrawal’s shop in Jhansi on Saturday, brought bounty of Rs 1 lakh for the police team for working out the incident which occurred on December 19, 2017. The gang had looted ornaments of worth Rs 1.5 crore.
Those arrested were identified as Sandeep Kushwaha, Ashish Sahu, Shivam Sahu and Anuj Rai, all of Jhansi.
Police said Agarwal’s former employee Krishna was the brain behind the dacoity and nine miscreants were involved in the case. During investigation, the police had nabbed three of the robbers, named as Vikky Rai, Ram Kripal and Shivam Suje and had recovered ornaments of worth Rs 4.5 lakh and a cash of Rs 71,000 from them. On their disclosure, the police started hunt of the above named miscreants and nabbed them.
Sandeep told police that he along with Krishna left for Indore after executing the crime while other their aides left for different destination. He further disclosed that he along with one his aide, named as Vikky Lakhera, had killed Krishna during their hiding in Meerut as they feared that Krishna will surrender before the police and their names will be exposed.
On the success, ADG Kanpur Zone announced the cash reward to the team which worked out the case.
