It's been 50 years since Steve McQueen ruled the silver screen with his 1968 Mustang GT fastback in "Bullitt" and Ford is commemorating the movie with a Bullitt of its own.

Ford showed off  its 2019 Mustang Bullitt at the 2018 North American International Auto Show on Jan. 14 in Detroit, Michigan. It's due to be released this summer.

The Bullitt features a 5.0-liter V8 engine that delivers at least 475 horsepower and a top speed of 163 mph. According to Ford, the Bullitt is 8 mph faster than the latest Mustang GT.
