Devvrat Singh, former Congress MP from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat and scion of royal family of Khairagarh, alleged on Sunday that there was no internal democracy in the party and if situation did not improve Congress would face worst times of its history.
Addressing a press conference in Raipur, Singh said that he was jobless in the party for a long time and he did not know what was his job profile in the party despite I sought intervention of party chief Rahul Gandhi.
“I had to quit party (Congress) last month because there was no other option left, party president (Rahul Gandhi) was not listening to my request to improve situation in Congress in Chhattisgarh,’’ Devvrat told reporters.
He further said that there was no internal democracy within the Congress and several leaders who have long association with the party are now feeling ‘ditched and sidelined’ like him.
On being asked which party he would be joining now, Devvrat refused to reveal his future plan but sources said he had been in touch with the former chief minister Ajit Jogi who had launched a political outfit last year after breaking away from Congress.
