REVEALED: Russia's SECRET powerful nuclear submarine and how the US military is responding
RUSSIA has built a secret powerful underwater nuclear drone capable of carrying a 100 megaton nuclear warhead, a leaked draft of a Pentagon report has revealed as the US seeks to boost its military.

The mysterious weapon has a range of 6,200 miles and can travel as far as 3,280 feet below sea level.
The Pentagon’s report indicates that Vladimir Putin is diversifying the nuclear capability of Russia in order to give it a strategic advantage over the US.
The report said: “In addition to modernising ‘legacy’ Soviet nuclear systems, Russia is developing and deploying new nuclear warheads and launchers.

“These efforts include multiple upgrades for every leg of the Russian nuclear triad of strategic bombers, sea-based missiles and land-based missiles.
“Russia is also developing at least two new intercontinental range systems, a hypersonic glide vehicle and a new intercontinental, nuclear-armed undersea autonomous torpedo.”
The review went on to argue that Putin’s new submarines meant that the US needed to do more to match Russia’s nuclear capabilities.
It stated that the US needed to have air, sea and ground nuclear capabilities.
However, it also added that the US had no intentions of copying Russia’s submarines.
The review said there was “no sign that the Pentagon is interested in developing unmanned undersea vehicles capable of delivering a nuclear weapon”.
Responding to the embarrassing leak, the Pentagon where unable to deny the findings of the report.
In a statement they said: “Our discussion has been robust and several draft have been written.
“However, the Nuclear Posture Review has not been completed and will ultimately be reviewed and approved by the President and the Secretary of Defense.
“As a general practice, we do not discuss pre-decisional, draft copies of strategies and reviews.”
As Russia, the US and other countries continue to stockpile their nuclear weapons, the Doomsday clock has shown the highest likely hood of nuclear war in more than 60 years.

The symbolic clock aims to show how close the world is to ‘doomsday’ based on how close it is to midnight.
It currently stands at two-and-a-half minutes to 12.
The clock has only once before been closer.
In 1953 the clock showed two minutes to 12 after he United States and the Soviet Union both tested hydrogen bombs.
