Airplane skids past runway, stopping just feet from the Black Sea

(Meredith) -- A Pegasus Airlines flight nearly ended up in the Black Sea after failing to slow down during the landing process and skidding off the runway. The plane, landing at Trabzon Airport in Turkey,  finally came to a stop sitting precariously on a muddy bank mere feet from the water.

No passengers or crew were hurt in the accident. Everyone exited the plane safely.

After the accident, the airport was shut down while experts tried to figure out what happened to the plane. According to ABC News, one of the pilots said the right engine just suddenly sped up during landing process pushing the plane towards the sea.

The investigation is still ongoing.
