Lviv drew 2.6 million tourists in 2017, spent over EUR 600 million

LvivThe tourism office of Lviv City Council has reported that as many as 2.6 million tourists had visited the western Ukrainian city of Lviv in the year 2017.

 

They had spent about Euro 615 million during their stay as per the regional news agency.

 

Generally, Belarusians, Poles and Ukrainians visit the city mostly. The leading ten nations whose residents love travelling to Lviv include Germany, Turkey, the United States, Great Britain, Lithuania, Canada and the Czech Republic.

 

Halyna Malets who is the CEO of Lviv City Council’s Tourism Office stated that they utilize three sources of information for tourism market research including a face-to-face survey of visitors, statistics offered by tourism information centers and data of the Lviv Tourism Barometer online system that accumulates information from tourist accommodation establishments.

 

As has been reported one tourist spends nearly EURO 75 per day on the average in a 4.4 day period of stay in Lviv.

 

Just a quarter of tourists tend to travel on their own while the remaining prefer traveling with their family, friends or as members of tourist groups. The Lviv National Opera, Lviv High Castle and the Lviv Town Hall are among the popular tourist attractions of this part of the world. Visits to the many restaurants and cafes and also cultural institutions and long walks around the city are thought to be the ideal ways of spending time in the city.

 

Malets has also stated that about 250,000 people had paid visit to Lviv in the initial two weeks of 2018.
