Despite a winter storm that’s turned streets and sidewalks icy, Denver’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration will proceed as planned.

“Everybody’s outside now setting up at City Park,” said Vern Howard, MLK Marade commission chair. “All of our plans are the same.”

Participants will gather at City Park at 9:30 a.m. at City Park for speeches.

The parade follows at 10:45 a.m. and runs down Colfax Avenue from Columbine Street to Bannock Street. Colfax will be closed to traffic during the Marade. A program will follow in Civic Center.
